Ovarian cancer is a type of cancer that arises in the ovaries due to the abnormal growth of cells. The cells grow rapidly and destroy the healthful tissues of the body. Ovaries are the egg-producing organ and hormones oestrogen and progesterone of the female body. They are present in pairs.

Often, ovarian cancer is detected in the last stage due to the availability of less visible symptoms in the early stages. It mainly gets detected in the last stage when it has already scattered to the stomach and pelvic region.
